The problem is simple. Writer is designed to use Styles. You do not want to use Styles. Characters have styles, paragraphs have styles, and pages have styles. This conflict is the major cause of your frustration. Then there is the problem with where the graphic ends. As I have seen mentioned by another member of this mailing list, most printers can not print a graphic all the way to the border of the page. However, I had no problems with moving the graphic to the edge of the page and then saving it. When reopened it was still where I had moved it. Perhaps this also has something to do with styles, but I can not be sure of that point.
But I *am* using styles. It's not like I'm doing anything special. I'm simply using Writer's option to have one style for both even and odd pages.
I made a new document and inserting a header with the graphic. This time I can place the graphic at the edge of the page. On subsequent pages it still is shifted to the left however.
Can you try inserting a graphic in the header and see if it stays at the specified position on all pages?
