On the grapevine the most common disadvantages attributed to OOo are
that the suite is
bloated

Installing the 2003 Standard Office product (www.microsoft.com) :
"The trial software download is 228 megabytes (MB), and approximately
500MB of free hard disk space is required to install the trial after
download"
With ~94MB for OOo (yes of course you'll still need to download an
email client to make it closer to apples for apples, but that won't be
100MB download - will it)

OOo (on my machine) installed size is ~250 MB.

I don't think that OOo suffers from feature bloat yet as well. There
are plenty of things that should/could/are being added ...IMHO I don't
get that bloated feeling yet...
