Still, it might be worth your while looking at some of the tools they mention. Have you rebooted the system after cleaning out any old OOo installation(s)? if not, that might be worth a try. Presumably you've looked carefully at the list of installed software in Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs? Other than that, I'm afraid that without sitting at your machine and "sniffing around" I don't know what else to suggest. Is there a computer guru near you that might help?
