[users] Not able to repair/uninstall OpenOffice 2.0 preinstalled program

My notebook came with OpenOffice 2.0 preinstalled.  I have been trying to 
uninstall this program to help free disc space (I am running Windows XP)  
However I am unable to uninstall via the conventional method of add/remove 
programs from my XP control panel.  Please send instructions for uninstall to 
my e-mail as soon as possible.  I desparately need the disc space free.  Your 
quick response will be most greatly appreciated.  Thank you.
