The file > new in writer worked.
This seems to good to be true.
Anyway, I can't get the 2nd part to work.
"Directly below file .."
"File" is which window, Finder or X11?
Also, I'm running this on the mac.
I thinking about converter my Window PC to this also.
Any suggestion on a OS? Solaris, Linix, or other?

Open Writer. Use File > New to give you a list of the other
applications. Directly below "File" you should see the "New" icon
which has an down arrow on its right. Click the arrow to?
