Perhaps a stupid question as you seem to be a lot more familiar with Java in
OOo than I am, but this had me tearing my hair out for about an hour yesterday:

In Tools>Option>OpenOffice.org>Java there's a list of installed JREs. Probably
there's only one. In any case, to the left of the Vendor is a little radio
button. Is that filled with a small black dot (pressed "down")?

Yesterday, for completely other reasons, I upgraded my JRE to 1.5.0.09. The
result was that several parts of OOo stopped working and gave me error messages
to the effect that my JRE was "defective". By accident I noticed that the
button was "up" (clear) and that pressing it solved the problem.

I think the idea is that the radio button lets you select which one of several
JREs you have installed. But even if there's only one, the button needs to be
"down".

Oh, I'm on OOo 2.0.4 running Win XP Pro. The messages may be different in other
environments.
