James,

You may be a little too late with the advice for updating the X-11. I think it was in my machine when I installed the purchased OO.oo 1. My download included the new X-11. However I'm interested in the names of the other user guides besides documentation , which I'm in the process of downloading._MY PRINTER JUST QUIT.

Might I suggest looking at http://documentation.openoffice.org
?

There are several User Guides and How-to (step by step instructions) on how to use OpenOffice.org 2.0.

Also, I will advise against updating the X11 program. This update will cause OpenOffice.org to stop functioning until either you
fix the problem OR Apple provides an update.

When I mentioned I was computer illiterate it is unfortunately true.
By platform I hope you mean I'm using Mac Power PC G5. What do you
mean by ,

Just open your OOo1 files from OOo2 and you can re-save them as OOo2 format.

I use default all the way. I don't change settings if I can't change
back. Right now it's files I'm after. I'm just starting on OO.oo
documentation
I need instructions by the number if possible. I'm the living
example of an old dog facing new tricks. Thanks for your help.
Vince

First of all, what platform are you using, and what do you mean by
"get all the stuff from OOo1 into OOo 2"? Do you mean files or
settings? Files are easy. OOo 2 is backwards compatible.

Just installed OO.oo 2 and..now that OO.oo 2 is installed how do I
get all the stuff from OO.oo 1 into OO.oo 2? I haven't a clue as to
what I did or what I should do next. I really like OO.oo.as
program and especially those good souls who help illiterates such as
myself.

Thanks-Vince
