2006/11/11, YON - Jan C. Hardenbergh <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>:
I had OpenOffice 2.0.3 (for PPC if I remember correctly.

It decided a file that I had closed cleanly needed to be recovered
and would not allow me to skip it. However, it crashes when
recovering so, it would never get out of that loop.

So, I downloaded 2.0.4 for Intel and that does not even get that far.

The must be some mangled temp files somewhere that I can delete, right?

Is there any debug switch to turn on to get more info? I am computer
literate (Started using UNIX in 1983) and have done a bit of
development on Mac OSX.

This sounds like the persistent recovery problem. You need to delete some files. The paths are probably similar to those on a Linux system:

Rename the following files to something like xxx.yyy.bad:

~/.openoffice.org2/user/registry/cache/org.openoffice.Office.Recovery.dat
~/.openoffice.org2/user/registry/data/org/openoffice/Office/Recovery.xcu

and delete / move the contents of the following folder: ~/.openoffice.org2/user/backup
