Hello all,
I have a multi-boot system with Window2 NT 4.0, Windows 98 first
edition, LinuxFromScratch with Gnome 2.14, Fedora with Gnome 2.14 and
Slackware Linux 10 with Kde. I have OpenOffice installed in Windows NT
and registered.
I have network connections for all the Linux versions and Windows NT. I
have no network connection for Windows 98 and probably never will.
Well my problems started when I attempted to install OpenOffice 2.0.4 in
Windows 98. When I started Writer, Iwas queried whether to register
now, later, never or already registered. I chose "Already Registered" I
was dropped out to the operating system. Not Good!
I then restarted Writer again then chose "Install Now" and the program
attempted to connect to the Internet. Which is not possible. The
program freezes and will go no further until it connects to the
internet. Which as I already said will not happen.
I have uninstalled OpenOffice and reinstalled. When I start any
OpenOffice program the result is the same.
I have attempted to modify and repair the installation but nothing has
changed.
What am I missing? How do I repair the installation of OpenOffice in
Windows 98?
Thanks for your help.
Joe
