If I try to "Insert" an equation in Impress, it opens up a new instance of
the Equation Editor rather than giving me the option to use a saved file. I
found by trial and error that I can drag and drop the equation's file icon
into an Impress document, but surely this isn't the only way to do it?

Incidentally am I the only one who finds Equation Editor help could be more
helpful? The reference list of how the text translates into symbols - the
one essential thing for users - isn't available from the top level menu.
Once I'd worked it out, I found that Equation Editor produced a result (for
my particular equations) that is better than Microsoft's equivalent. But I
could use the Microsoft's GUI system without looking at the help system,
while I was struggling with OOo's one.
