Thats a very good approach. Just be sure to include a link to OOo to
those that you email documents to, so that they can:
1) open your docs!
2) enjoy the other benifits of OOo

I also recommend carrying OOo in your USB key, as I do, so that you
can access your documents when you're at someone else's machine who
might not have OOo. Get it at PortableApps.com. Note that I keep a OOo
installer in the USB key as well, for those who want it.
