Hello, I am writing my masters paper in openoffice 2.0.2 and I am having difficulty in formatting the pagination required for publication. I need to paginate everything previous to the first page of text in roman numerals and everything following in arabic numerals. I have been able to apply a formatting variable to get everything after and including the first page of text in arabic numerals, but I can't seem to find a way to get the first pages formatted in roman without applying roman numerals to the headings in the whole text.
The other related problem I have is finding a way to get the table of contents function to recognize and list the page numbers as I want them to appear. After getting openoffice to paginate my text in arabic numerals I updated the table of contents and it still numbers all of my pages beginning with 1 etc. So basically my first page of text now says page 1, while the table of contents says it starts on page 5. I have been reading the help pages and trying to figure this out, but I am wasting a lot of time I should be spending on editing! Please, help me! Thanks, Katie
