Got it, thanks. OO now works, although I find it a bit annoying that the XTerm window pops up when you start OO.

For Tiger, you better install it (as Randall said) from your installtion
CD's or DVD

...

I think, it is not necessary to first install the Mac-OS-X disk- X11 and then upgrade it,

try to install the latest version of X11 (1.1.3) via this link.
