I think,  it is not necessary to first install the Mac-OS-X disk-X11
and then upgrade it,

try to install the latest version of X11 (1.1.3) via this link.

Well...

the System Requirements on that *update* page say:
— Mac OS X 10.4.8 or later
— X11 1.1, 1.1.1, or 1.1.2

but I didn't test these possibilities
