Hi,
I keep getting a message that the file is corrupted or that there is a virus after attempting to down load openoffice. I have made three attempts and am just about to give up. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated. Thanks, Darel

Well, if you are downloading from an authorized source, such as one of the listed mirrors at www.openoffice.org, you might want to temporarily disable the ant-virus software during the download. Some anti-virus packages have falsely identified the OOo downloads as infected. The safest route would be to disable the anti-virus, download (but do not extract) OOo, re-enable the anti-virus software, then scan the downloaded file.
