Thanks.
I am used to WordPerfect and all I need to do to insert the current
date is <Ctrl-D>
So I would like to be able to insert the current date into a document.
I have tried Roberto's suggestion and all I get is 'Date (fixed)'
Under default; languages, I have selected "English (Canada) and I can
type in the current date, but it would be nice to just insert it
rather than type it.
Hope this is clearer.
Warren,
peace

I am new to open office.
My first question is as follows:
How do I insert a date, not a date code, into a text document?
Example would be 5 Oct. 2006.
You're going to have to be a bit clearer -- as you've worded your
question, the only clear answer is, "Just type '5 Oct. 2006'".
