Hello, in my master document the desired paragraph style does not appear in the page header. Level1 (titel) and level2 (author) are to appear alternating in the page header. It functions with level1 and level3 (sub-title). But I do not get the level linked with the paragraph style 'author' into my headline, also not if I exchange the levels. The paragraph style 'author' differs from the other paragraph style by the fact, that within the text flow I have changed break - type: page - before – with page style: First page (all paragraphs mentioned are on this page) - page number: 0. The chapter start with 'author'-'title'-'sub-title'. Can someone explain me, how I get title and author alternating into the page-header? Thanks Heike
Heike, I am not sure I understood: the only way (that I know) to get the headers to do what you want is to use heading styles for the Author and for the Title. For example: - the author is formatted as Heading 1 - the title is formatted as Heading 2 ** Note that this is totally arbitrary, I could have chose any Heading level e.g. Heading 8 and Heading 9. Then: 1. Format > Page > Header tab and tick Header on, untick Same Content Left/Righ 2. Move the cursor on the first page header and do 3. Insert > Cross reference > document Tab. Chose Chapter on the leftmost listbox, "Chapter Name" from the right most, level 1 in the bottom right edit box 4. click Insert Insert a new page (the one where you want the title) and repeat steps 2 to 4 above with the only difference that now at the end of step 3 you will select 2 in the bottom right edit box * remember that Heading 2 is where you place the title * Now your headers should do what you want. Cheers, Michele
