If I recall correctly, if you attempt to re-install the old version, you
will be presented with a screen that provides options to 1) add features
not included in the original installation; 2) repair; or 3) remove the
old installation. At least, that is the way the installer used to work.
This would be the case if you are trying to remove a version older
than 2.0RC, but even if not, you may get lucky by just re-installing the
old version. It's worth a shot.

Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder
containing the istallation package 'openofficeorg20.msi'in the

First of all, if your present OOo version is 2.0.0 or later, you
do not have to uninstall the old version. The latest version will
install right over the top of the version you have. It will also keep
all of the same settings you were using in the old version.
Secondly, you probably did not close the Quickstarter located in
the system tray next to the clock. It has silhouettes of three flying
birds (sea gulls) on a blue and white background. If you want to
uninstall the old version, right click this icon and select Close.
Then use the Add/Remove program in the Control Panel.
