Just as a point of interest, the latest version of MS Word will not run on OS 9 either. You will have to go to eBay and look for it. I don't think that Word was very popular at the time on Mac computers. The native text program for OS 9 is Appleworks. v6.2.8 probably is the ultimate version that runs on a Classic Mac (OS 9). It doesn't seem to be available from the Apple site (only the update from a v6 to v6.2.8) I used to work with it, it's quite OK.
