2006/12/16, James Claiborn <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>:
I am trying to run open office on my Mac. I have done this before but recently had to reload and then upgrade operating system so I am now running OS X 10.4 Tiger. I have X11 installed. When I try to use Open Office I get the X 11 terminal window and I get the Open Office icon on the doc and the short menu with open office, file and edit only. No open office window opens. When I try to open a document with open office I get the same thing. I also can't get it to close. When I try quit open office nothing happens. I have to force quit to get it to quit. I have downloaded it several times just in case there was some problem with the file and get the same result. Any advice? --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Hello James
Just checking: • Do you have the Tiger version of X11 installed? When you click on About X11 it should say it's X11 1.1 or 1.1.3 - XFree86 4.4.0 (version 1.1.2 gives problems, but as far as I know only on Intel Macs, while you supposedly have a PowerPC Mac / 4.3.0 is for Panther and won't do under Tiger). • Did you download the Mac PPC version of OpenOffice.org (not the Intel) ? I presume it's OOo 2.0.4, since the 2.1 isn't ready yet for the Mac PPC. If one of these two options isn't wrong... we have to look into it deeper. -- Guy using english OOo 2.0.4 on a iMac Intel DualCore Tiger and dutch OOo 2.1 RC 1 on a G4 PPC Powerbook Tiger -- please reply only to [email protected] -- Dodoes can't afford to have headaches
