I got the X11 off the same disks as the upgrade as Tiger and I was careful to get the power PC not Intel version of Open Office. I am not at my Mac now so I can't look at version numbers till later.
For what it's worth I had the same problem with older versions of Open Office 1.x and earlier OS X versions on the same Mac but that was a few years ago and I have no idea what I did to fix it. -- James M.
