My French is not very good but, if I understand correctly, you cannot
change text you have already typed. There are two ways to do this. The
first is the select the error using the mouse and then typing over the
selection. The second is to use the "Insert" (Insérer? Introduire?) key.
When you press this key the "mode" changes and new typing overwrites
existing text; press it again and new typing is inserted at the cursor.
In English this is called a "toggle" (inerrupteur?): every time you
press it the state "toggles" between insert and overwrite.
Unless you are using a Mac, in which case it *might* be different. The
first method will always work, regardless of the keyboard capabilities.
