Look at issue 66919. I added a few screen shots to the issue that
shows what happens. This not only affects these menus but others. If
you were a new user to this product, would you use it if menus were
missing items? That is what makes this a showstopper.
Only if the en-GB Language Pack is applied. The simple work-around is
not to use it and live with a few spelling mistakes as I said before.
Maybe I should state, this. I work in Quality Assurance as my prime
time job. I will NOT release a product with known bugs. It takes
less work to fix a problem than to spend two hours locked up in a
room with users SCREAMING at you.
During my many years as a developer, anyone who screamed at my
colleagues, or me would get a dot on his 'i' and be thrown out of the
room, locked or not:-) No one wants to release software with bugs, but
it happens and some sense of proportion is necessary.
Thus, I believe that OpenOffice.org for en_GB should not be out,
except the last version, 2.0.2, that did not exhibit this problem,
until it is fixed.
The language pack I'll agree with, but not the product.
