You said you used help, but you did not say what you looked for
in help. Have you looked at autotext? With this, you can set up a
list of things you type often. When you set up an item on this list,
you also enter a shortcut key. When you want to enter this item in a
document, you type the letters of the shortcut and use the F3 key.
There are Guides available for additional information on how to
use Writer. One of them is the complete User's Guide available at
http://documentation.openoffice.org/manuals/. Another is the Writer
Guide which is available on the same page.
