I was formally a Microsoft User. With Microsoft I could highlight a word, a phrase, a sentence, a signature, etc., that I used frequently and auto format the same so that I did not have to type it in its entirety when I needed it. I would simply began to type that particular item and the highlighted auot formatted item would appear. I would then press enter and the remainder of the item would type automatically. I have been trying to accomplish the same results with your software unsuccessfully. I have done what I use to do with Microsft and I have use your help instructions and this feature has not worked for me. Can you assist me? Thank you very much. Ellis Washington
Ellis, The function you are looking for is available in OpenOffice.org and is called Autotext (ctrl-F3). You can consult the Help (F1) available within the program to see how it functions. More help is available at the OpenOffice.org website > Support > Tutorials etc. The answers at this users list are provided by volunteers. You will not get any refund from us here at this list or from the developers since OOo is free (see licence info at http://www.openoffice.org/license.html). I do not know where you bought what from or at what price, but OOo can be downloaded for free from the OOo website. If you bought in on CD, the price you paid is not for the program, but for the work and material that went into burning the CD, for additional programs. There are lots of crooks around these days, but OOo is not one of them. -- Guy using english OOo 2.0.4 on a iMac Intel DualCore Tiger and dutch OOo 2.1 RC 1 on a G4 PPC Powerbook Tiger -- please reply only to [email protected] -- Dodoes can't afford to have headaches
