Hi, I have exactly the same problem Geoff described. I'm running osx 10.4.8 , PPC G4 1.5Ghz. And spotlight points to nowhere except the dmg and pkg of the x11 that I've downloaded but couldn't install. It's like the computer thinks it's installed but it isn't. Thanks. I would really like to use OOo, let's see if I can make it thru this one... :) Thanks so much X11 is not in my applications. There is no icon on which to click. So my computer both has and doesn't have X11 as far as I can tell... I know this can't be... but this is how it appears...again thanks for your patience... (magnifying glass in top right corner of your screen). Look for X11 (the logo is a black X in a white square)
Hello please consult the X11 info on the mac porting pages of OpenOffice.org: http://porting.openoffice.org/mac/ the pdf will explain clearly how to proceed (installing X11 user pkg from your Mac OSX installation disk, followed by an update from the Apple site to get the X11 1.1.3 version). Tiger needs the X11 1.1. or 1.1.3 - XFree86 4.4.0 An alternative source for X11 would ne the XFree86 site. See that you download the right version! -- Guy using english OOo 2.0.4 on a iMac Intel DualCore Tiger and dutch OOo 2.1 RC 1 on a G4 PPC Powerbook Tiger -- please reply only to [email protected] -- Dodoes can't afford to have headaches
