Christine, You can't download word, excel or powerpoint for free...you have to pay big bucks to Microsoft for them. BUT you can download Openoffice.org from openioffice.org for free...the suite is compatable with the other products...I've been using it for a couple of weeks now and find it very similar and easy to use.
