I am questioning the security of the password system on

I saved a spreadsheet with a simple password. I then looked at it

concerned
how much I can rely on this security.
I the password actually an encryption key? If so what encryption

that a hex

I use an encrypted partition for all of my data files, but my

thoughts?
The summary information is not encrypted. The document content
however is encrypted.
Try this to show how good the encryption is:
* Work on a copy of the OpenDocument/OpenOffice file.
* Change the file extension to .zip
* unzip the file using you favourite compression utility
* take a look at the files there and see what you can read (or not).
