     Yes, it does. When you first save a text document or spreadsheet 
file in OOo, the bottom of the Save As window as a box labeled Save 
with Password. Click the box to put a check mark (tick) into it. Make 
sure the file has a name and you have selected the File type you want 
(Writer or Calc). Then click Save. You will be asked for a password 
and then asked to repeat the password.
     Just remember one thing: one you have password protected one of 
these files, it is almost impossible to open the file again without 
the proper password. Unless you used a simple password, password 
crackers could take possibly months to years to open the file.
