Before uninstalling OpenOffice you must close the quickstarter that's in
the systemtray. After that you should be able to uninstall it just like
any other programm.
To restore the opening of files, just rightclick on a file and choose
Open with ... From the list select the application you need. Before you
click OK be sure to check the little checkbox so windows will remember
the setting in the future.
