The details of how to save certain features need to be discovered using trial on error. Therefore it's a known issue that text formatting is not 100% the same as in Word. Perhaps this will be solved when Microsoft starts supporting the Open Document Format standard or when OpenOffice is able to read and write the new Office XML format > It seems that I cannot go for that because I am using > Windows 98. OpenOffice 2.1 will run on a Windows98 machine. However this depends on the speed of your machine. For system requirements have a look at the website www.openoffice.org > My next complaint is that it tries to be like Word, instead of becoming > better. That is of course a matter of opinion. Since Word is the market leader for word processing it makes sense to have a common base of features, otherwise people are never going to convert to OpenOffice. While some of the features are the same, the methods of using the features are sometimes different and for some of us better or more logical.
