Pastor Hurley: It is possible to open WordPerfect documents through OpenOffice.org for Windows. I don't know about Presentations created using the WordPerfect suite however.
Unfortunately, the current version of OpenOffice.org, 2.1, will not run on your home system as 98SE is the minimum recommended operating system for Windows. You may of course, try it and if it does work, use it at no cost. As this is a mailing list staffed with volunteers, you may receive other answers.
