Hello Open office,
I've tried several times to download Open Office,
The next window sez's " This object blocked".
I'm runnng WinXP HE.Re-sent Zone Alarm to allow cookies as well as
FireFox .

If you have time would let me know what I am doing wrong ?
Perhaps It would be better to purchase the CD.

Are you on a corporate network? If so, your company might be blocking things and you'll need to persuade its security folk that OpenOffice is safe to download and then have them persuade the network admin folk to do whatever is necessary to unblock it. Of course, if you are on a corporate network the company might object to you installing unapproved software. I've known people to be fired for that. In that case you might want to think twice about buying the CD.

If you are on your own private connection then it's possibly something in ZoneAlarm (ZA). I can't remember all the ZA options from when I used to use it a few years ago but I think you can tell it that openoffice.org is a trusted domain. I think ZA will then allow the download. Please look in the ZA documentation; the keyword is "trusted domain" or variations thereof.

Where are you downloading from? It should be from http://download.openoffice.org/2.1.0/index.html which is the official site, or a "mirror" which you found by following links from that site.

OpenOffice is often to be found on the CDs/DVDs that come with computer magazines. Just a thought ...
