Go to http://java.com to download and install Java. Then, in
OpenOffice, click on Tools > Options. Next, under OpenOffice.org,
select Java. After a minute or two, the installed Javas will
appear in the Window. Select the latest etc. IIRC, you'll now
have to close and reopen OOo for Java to work.

Since you are using Win XP, you have quickstarter icon in the
System tray just to the left of the clock. (It is three birds flying
on a blue and gray background.) When you close OOo in the above
steps, you must also close the quickstarter. Right click it, and
select exit. When you start OOo again, the quickstarter should
reappear. You should now be able to use the letter wizards.
