A few days ago on Groklaw, we were discussing OOo's support for
Windows, and particularly whether NT4 was supported.

To resolve the issue, I went to the OOo website and found
contradictory information. Which is right?

The download page for 2.1.0 states that it is for Windows 2000, NT4
and XP. From that description, I'd conclude that OOo does still
support NT4, but support for the DOS-based versions of Windows (9x/Me)
has been discontinued.

The download page I reference is at this URL:
http://download.openoffice.org/2.1.0/index.html?focus=download

The linked System Requirements page (which refers to 2.0, not 2.1)
states that Windows 98, Me, 2000 (SP2+), XP and 2003 are supported. No
mention of NT.

That page is at this URL:
http://www.openoffice.org/dev_docs/source/sys_reqs_20.html
(note: attempting to reach "sys_reqs_21.html" gave me a 404)

So here's what I want to know;

1) Which versions of Windows are really supported under 2.1?

2) If WinNT4 is supported under 2.1, does 2.0 run it as well?

3) If Win9x/Me are not supported under 2.1, what is the last version
that does? (I want to make sure I have a copy of that version!)

Thanks for your help!

Thanks for your help!
