Dates were manually entered as "22/1/07 - 26/1/07" on both machines.
Both computers use this format in W98 regional settings. NOTE: it is
not US date format intentionally.
Stumped, is there a file/folder i can remove?
Any other advice?

Within Windows, what are the locales and other international settings on the
two machines?
Are the two machines running the same Windows *patch* levels?
Within OO, what are the *cell* attributes on the two machines (a) before
changing the format and (b) after changing it? Note, not the global settings
from Tools>Options>... but the actual attributes of the cells.
