Christian:

You must have Point Of Sale software confused with something else.  POS 
software has many functions, most of which are not supported by OpenOffice.org 
in its current form.

If you look at the POS software platform, it may be Windows, but the software 
that is running has gone through MANY certifications.  One of which is PCI 
(Payment Card Industry) certification. This is a long and very expensive 
process.  
I don't think that the OpenOffice.org community wants this.

Now if you are talking about automatic inventory and pricing, this is possible 
in 
the current version, but no one has asked for this (to my knowledge) and you 
are the first.  If you  want this, then develop it or ask for development.
