OK, just a quick digression (at the risk of inadvertently hijacking
this thread with a long discussion). While I like the open source
model and OOo software, I was just wondering what the impact would be
of requiring a small fee for this kind of use of OO. That is, for any
bundling on commercial computers and/or for distributions where a fee
is charged (beyond shipping costs). The fee, of course, would help
cover the development costs, costs of the website and these
discussions, etc.
This topic came up a couple of weeks back, when someone found a site
that charged a significant amount for OO. As I recall, there was
nothing illegal about it.
