Hi,

I downed loaded OOo 2.1 yesterday. Tonight I just important a 20 page
report, unnumbered, and I just completed numbering the pages. I don't have
all
the vocabulary down yet, but this is what just worked for me. Don't know if
you tried this, I put a footer at the bottom of the first page, then placed my
cursor in the middle of that footer, then added the page number starting with
"1". The rest of the report was numbered correctly. Of course using the
menu commands for both steps.

Good Luck,

Cindy/Delaware

Dear OOo.org,
I've downloaded the word processing program and we are very satisfied with
the result. However, I need help in the area of page numbers.
No problem when I began a new project. The problem is when I open a
manuscript that has been generated in Word Perfect and opened in OOo. I
followed the
help insturctions, inserted header as directed. So far so good. I type in the
number one for page one and all 300 pages of the manuscript are page one.
What am I doing wrong? Thanks, Blessings, Raul Zayas
