Files burnt to CD-R are always read-only, because CD-R disks are
write-once-only media. When these files are copied back from CD to your
hard disk, the operating system normally preserves the read-only status.
When you try to save a read-only file using the same file name your
operating system will not allow this and displays the "Administrator"
message you are seeing. OOo (OpenOffice.org) does not and should not
override your operating system's access privileges and rights.
You have 2 options:
1. Use your file manager ("My Computer") to toggle off the file(s)
read-only properties.
2. Open the file(s) in OOo Calc and use "File -> Save As..." to save the
file(s) with a different name (eg. MyOrigFile.xls to MyNewFile.xls).
Please do not mess around with file extensions, under MS Windows this
will create more problems than it can ever resolve.
Hope this helps.
