I've been using OOo Calc for about a week now. I've had it installed a while but have only started trying it out after a particularly frustrating session with Excel. Even though it's new to me and I've been struggling with some of the differences (e.g formula syntax) I'm still impressed and will definitely recommend it.

I posted a question asking where comments/suggestions (rather than problems) might be directed - it seems the best place to start is here. I'm very aware that my comments stem from Excel comparison but try to take them seriously nevertheless. Some comments will probably be due to my ignorance of the settings available in Calc, but here goes :-

- when you have a single file open, there is a close button at the top righthand corner of the sheet, but no resize button. With multiple files open, there is not even a close button. It's sometimes useful to be able to resize multiple files so that they can be viewed side by side. - using the Edit/Find & Replace option the "Current selection only" tickbox is on the "More Options" panel and seems to be unticked by default. I'd suggest moving it to the main panel at least. - similarly, in the Sort Dialog the "Columns have headers" tickbox is on the secondary panel and quite hidden as 2nd in a list of 4. I think the option deserves more prominence. - there doesn't seem to be a Most Recently Used file list on the File dropdown. I suspect that is something I can set myself but I haven't found it yet. - my mouse scroll wheel only scrolls one line per click. Is there somewhere I can set it to scroll one window as it does in all other applications? - I very often copy & paste columns of data to text files for external manipulation. A column copy puts all 64K rows on the clipboard regardless of how many are used. Could it be changed to only copy the used rows as in Excel?

None of this is criticism - there could well be good reason for things being the way they are. I'm keen though to try and make an excellent product even better.

Best wishes,
Mike
