This may or may not help you:

following the instructions, and see.

If that does not work, try renaming (in the same way) the last folder in
this path:
C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Application Data\OpenOffice.org\
On older versions of "Windows" the path will be slightly different.
Any renaming should only be done after you have closed all OpenOffice
processes including the Quick Starter.
Reinstalling is very unlikely to help but can be run, I understand, with a
"repair" function enabled.
ODT is really a zip file.
Copy it as a backup somewhere.
You can always rename it to .zip and get the text out. :-)
Make sure you copy the file before you experiment.
