try to use customizing keyboard event
tools>customize>the tab keyboard ; then slect the key that you wish to
assign to changing font size.
select OpenOffice.org (asigning to all application in OOo) or Calc
(asigning to calc only)
in function list;
category select format
function select font size
and then click modify
