If you have access to a Linux or Windows PC with ImageMagick
(www.imagemagick.org) installed, it's as easy as
convert my_thesis.pdf my_thesis.tiff
You may need to find out what resolution the tiff needs to be. Somewhere
around 100dpi is adequate for screen display, in which case you would
use this:
convert -density 100 my_thesis.pdf my_thesis.tiff
