I simply want to print a list of 800 names by their last name.
I have checked "Getting started with base" but there was no mention of the
word Print there.
While trying to print from the Data Base originally, I was directed to
"File>Print" or "Print directly"
They were not on the DB menu. I found these on the OOo setup. Transfered
them to the DB 'File menu" but they were greyed out. How can I activate
these terms.

You still have not mentioned what you want to print. Do you want
to print out the names that are not duplicates? Do you want to print
out a list by last name?
