You don't need WinZip! 7Zip is a free alternative (and better
compressor). You can pick it up from its home site, or Source Forge:

There are also plenty of other programs that can open zipped files.
By the way, why would you want to "open" the OpenOffice.org download?
It's an installer program and just needs a double-click to start
installation.
