Do you mean the tiny buttons on the left side of the scrollbar-horizontal
tab bar? They just make a different sheet tab visible when the horizontal
scrollbar partially covers the tabs. The sheet tabs themselves are to the
right of those buttons.
Your horizontal scrollbar may be covering the sheet tabs. Unless you need a
long horizontal scrollbar, drag it off your sheet tabs by grabbing the left
end and pulling it to the right. As mentioned by Adrian, you can move to
another sheet by clicking on the tab.
