First off, thank you Heather for your response. I am though still having the
same problem. I will tell you step by step what I did, and hopefully I did
something wrong that you or someone else will catch. Here goes.
OK, I went to the the tools > options and clicked on the + next to
load/save. It brought up 4 drop downs which were General, VBA Properties,
Microsoft Office and HTML Compatibility. I clicked on General and found the
default file format. For Document Type, I have Text Document. For Always save
as, I have OpenDocument Text. Then I hit OK, and still it is not changed back.
Since this started happening, whenever I try to open one of my recent documents
that is now saved in the file format, instead of opening with OO, a list pops
up asking me what do I want to open it with.
