Hi all, I have only recently started using OpenOffice and would like to have Chinese Input in the Writer (but still have all commands in English). Can someone please walk me through as to how I can do that? I am not a techie so, I would appreciate it if you could use dummy-proof terms to walk me through. Thank you very much. Regards, Hwai Jiin
Hello I suppose you will find helpful information (and OOo users) at the Chinese language project of OpenOffice.org: http://zh.openoffice.org/index.html Using OOo to write Chinese starts at Tools > Options > Language settings > Language You need to check the Extended language support (Asian scripts) and then chose a type of Chinese as standard language under Asian. You want to keep English as language for the interface, so this can remain (English or Standard), but you might want to change the locale. Good luck, and feel free to post any more questions at this list. -- Guy using dutch OOo 2.1 RC 2 on a iMac Intel DualCore Tiger and dutch OOo 2.1 RC 1 on a G4 PPC Powerbook Tiger -- please reply only to [email protected] -- Dodoes can't afford to have headaches
