The answer to you question is yes.

Did you know that this mailing list is searchable?
This question has been asked and answered many many many times and a quick search would have given you this information. The reason I mention this is that searching the archive will save you a lot of time rather than waiting for a reply from this list. It also means that my more competent counter parts answering this mailing list aren't bogged down by repeated questions. The mailing list archive can be searched here <http:// www.openoffice.org/servlets/SummarizeList?listName=users> just click on 'Search mailing list archive'

Here are a few further notes on running OO on Vista:

"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
OpenOffice.org runs fine on Vista. The current version (2.1) has some
minor bugs that are only annoyances (e.g. OOo uses the "old" file
dialog instead of the pretty(?) new one from Vista). They will be
fixed in OpenOffice.org 2.2
Some problems with system integration (e.g. showing thumbnails and
document property columns in the Explorer) are known that can't be
fixed until Microsoft publishes the necessary interfaces. :-(
But they will not have any impact on running OpenOffice.org. You can
use it on Vista as you can on XP.
Ciao,
Mathias
